You know summer is saying her final goodbye when the leaves turn from green to yellow and then others turn into orange, red or even purple. You breathe in the crisp air and notice the sweet aroma of summer has turned into the smell of autumn rain still trapped within the skin of clouds and lovers. One senses that this scent of dew will soon become the silent snowflake seeking refuge on your nose. Ah. Autumn has arrived and turns your head with her unmasking of a palette so bright as she begins to paint the landscape in hues unimaginable. As if waking from a languid dream you notice that life is in abundant change around you and preparing her creatures for the long cold days of winter.
Soon thoughts turn to pumpkins, homemade pies, raking leaves, crackling fires and steamy hot cider. Autumn is the perfect time for love. No other season comes dressed for the backdrop of a love play like Autumn. With Autumn comes the sense of urgency to get things done quickly before all becomes enveloped in the hush of winter white.
Walking through Autumn leaves with your love brings back a memory of a magic to time as a child when a pile of leaves was so much more than a nuisance. This is a wonderful opportunity to be that child again and play! Invite your sweetheart to hold you tight and just fall into those leaves together and you will find yourself falling in love, perhaps for the first time or the first time this Autumn.
Turn your head and everywhere couples are nestled into each other with soft whispers and their breaths captured in the icy air. Breathe in each others breath and become one. Slip your arms around each other and just take time to notice the days growing shorter and life being lived to the fullest. Harvest these fruits of Autumn and cherish the cycles of our seasons.
Echo again the changes that you see, Autumn., with new beginnings just around the corner.
Mine eye and heart are at a mortal war
How to divide the conquest of thy sight;
Mine eye my heart thy picture’s sight would bar,
My heart mine eye the freedom of that right.
My heart doth plead that thou in him dost lie–
A closet never pierced with crystal eyes–
But the defendant doth that plea deny
And says in him thy fair appearance lies.
To ‘cide this title is impanneled
A quest of thoughts, all tenants to the heart,
And by their verdict is determined
The clear eye’s moiety and the dear heart’s part:
As thus; mine eye’s due is thy outward part,
And my heart’s right thy inward love of heart.
No sooner met but they looked;
No sooner looked but they loved;
No sooner loved but they sighed;
No sooner signed but they asked one another the reason;
No sooner knew the reason but they sought the remedy;
And in these degrees have they made a pair of stairs to more then a simple love…
William Shakespeare
Learn to look at any moment with the quiet understanding that, in reality, nothing in life is fixed. All things change. Everything passes. This is truth. Knowing this to be true is power over what disturbs us. On the other hand, according to another great truth, everything in life tends to become more of what it is, so that the only thing “fixed” in us are those parts of our presently unenlightened nature that convince us to resist life’s natural changes. As this fear-filled, downward-trending nature tricks us into accepting its conclusions, we unconsciously accept the limited and painful life this alliance-in-the-dark produces. We can do better!
Real self-change begins with seeing that Real Life is change itself. This means there is nothing that can disturb you without your unconscious cooperation. Withdraw it. Wake up. Walk out of yourself by changing how you see what you call your life. Realize that while the contents of your life may come and go, turn dark, or suddenly seem delightful – regardless — these things will pass. Resting in the awareness of this Truth while working to stand upon its higher ground, you come upon the Life within you whose nature is the unchanging witness of these movements. This Self dwells outside of change, even as all that changes moves through It.
No matter what your life has been like until now, and as remarkable as it may seem, there truly is a part of you that can:
- Meet each day with complete confidence that there’s nothing to fear, ever!
- Love fully and without reservation
- Always know the right thing to do
- Overcome any problem life tosses your way
- Be propelled by the endless force and power of the present moment
Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forgive about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. …. live like you will die tommorow, learn live you will live forever and beter to be hated for who I am , than loved for who I am not
